Chalet Assistant

At Purple Ski, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional luxury ski holidays with warm hospitality, outstanding service, and unforgettable guest experiences. As a Chalet Assistant you will play a key role in ensuring our guests enjoy a seamless and memorable stay from arrival to departure.
This is a varied and rewarding position combining guest service and chalet operations. You will work closely with the Chalet Manager, Chef, and Resort Team to maintain the highest standards across every aspect of chalet life.
Life in resort is fast-paced, team-oriented, and incredibly rewarding. While hard work and flexibility are essential, the role also offers the opportunity to enjoy the mountains, ski or snowboard, meet new people, and be part of an exciting winter season abroad.
The Role
Reporting to the Chalet Manager and Resort Manager, the Chalet Assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the chalet. The Chalet Assistant’s primary responsibilities include hosting, serving meals, and housekeeping. (All cooking is done by the chalet’s chef.)
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and thrives in a hands-on environment.
Essential Requirements
- Previous hospitality experience, particularly housekeeping, waitressing, or guest service roles
- Positive, reliable, and flexible attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of service
- Professional in manner and appearance at all times
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Create a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment for guests at all times.
- Be available to answer questions or resolve issues, always striving to exceed guest expectations.
- Remain knowledgeable about the resort, local facilities, Purple Ski’s website, and the Employee Manual.
- Assist guests in making restaurant reservations for lunch or evening meals.
- Support guests with any ski equipment issues when needed.
- Refer any complaints to the Resort Manager promptly.
- Ensure smooth handovers to and from colleagues covering during days off, maintaining consistency of service.
- Flexibility to work in other chalets or resorts as needed, to provide support during busy periods or to cover staff absences due to illness
Housekeeping
Ensure the chalet is consistently kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, both daily and at season end
Daily responsibilities include:- Vacuuming/mopping floors and carpets in all rooms
- Tidying guest rooms and refreshing soft furnishings
- Making beds and cleaning bathrooms
- Window cleaning as required
- Evening turndown service
- Full linen and towel changes
- Deep cleaning of the chalet
- Washing and ironing small linens (e.g. napkins, chef’s whites)
- Inventory and management of linen, laundry, and housekeeping supplies
- Collaboration with the team during guest arrivals/departures
- Report any maintenance issues promptly and ensure household equipment is properly cared for
Food and Drink Service
- Assist with breakfast preparation and service as needed
- Lay out and clear away afternoon tea
- Support the chef with children’s meals, packed lunches, and evening service
- Prepare the dining area, serve, and clear meals (including canapés and petit fours)
- Manage guest drinks service including bar and fridge restocking, wine service, cocktail making
- Maintain fresh fruit bowls and weekly flower arrangements
Administration
- Support the chef with stock control, order preparation, and inventory checks
- Maintain inventories of household equipment and linen
- Ensure adequate linen is available for upcoming weeks
- Handle payments for lift passes, massages, and other services when necessary
- Encourage guests to sign the visitors’ book
- Complete guest feedback forms at the end of each stay

Whilst we are happy to have UK staff and help arrange your Visa to work in France, we will not be able to proceed with UK applicants past September 2026 due to Visa timeframes.
For driving roles, you must have an EU passport, full Driving Licence for the country that your passport is issued, minimum two years previous professional driving experience, and be aged over 21 for vehicle insurance purposes.
