The perfect skiing holiday isn’t just about skiing – it’s also about the ease of getting to and from the slopes, the comfort and relaxation at the end of the day and the exquisite food and wine that makes every evening special. We understand that it’s the finer details that make all the difference, which is why we do everything we can to ensure your Purple Ski experience exceeds your expectations.
Our people are at the heart of the Purple Ski philosophy and the consistent delivery of high level service for which we’re renowned. They are our greatest asset.
We take pride not only in making sure our guests have the best possible skiing holiday, but also in being a great company to work for. We hire people based on their skills, experience and attitude and expect the highest standards of work from them. And in return, we make sure they’re well rewarded and get to spend the most time possible enjoying themselves.
SPA AND WELLNESS
All our chalets have outdoor hot tubs; six also have either a steam room/hammam or sauna. Help keep yourself injury-free and on top form for skiing, or simply relax and ease away the aches and pains from a hard day pummelling the pistes, not to mention the tensions of everyday life.
Purple Ski is one of the few companies to employ in-house therapists. We have two permanent, qualified and very experienced massage therapists on our team this year who’ll treat you in the comfort of your chalet, which means no travelling to and from your session.
We’d recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
The cost is €75 per 50 minute session and €55 for a 25 minute session.
Treatments can be pre-booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or arranged once you've arrived in resort.
Other services such as hairdressing, facials, manicures and pedicures are also available. Simply contact us for more information.
Meet our Masseuses
Having qualified in 2014 Sara has had an abundance of Physiotherapy and massage experience, as well as three years as a student volunteering at BUPA sport events and at various sporting organisations such as Manchester City Academy football club, the Amechi basketball centre and various University sporting teams - in addition to being a member of the skiing and netball teams.
Prior to qualifying as a Physiotherapist Sara worked multiple part time customer service jobs as a student, including 18 months as part of the VIP service at Manchester United Football Club.
Aside from skiing, Sara loves to travel and has most recently spent part of the summer in Indonesia gaining her PADI dive qualification. Enthusiastic, someone who can rarely sit still and do just one thing, hardworking, chatty, generous, Sara loves experiencing new places and meeting new people. She started skiing 7 years ago and loves it - and is so excited to be back in Meribel which she considers to be one of the best ski resorts in the world. It's a pleasure to have her back.
She has a wealth of experience dealing with back pain/sciatica, neck issues, joint mobilisation, core strength and pelvic stability, muscle imbalances and poor posture, but also on relaxation techniques and improving strength and flexibility throughout the muscles bringing balance within the whole body.
For the past 15 years she has also worked in hospitality in positions from waitress to housekeeping in a hotel and bar-tending.
After snowboarding for the first time in 2014 she fell in love with the mountains and joined us as a masseuse for the 2015-16 season. Since then, she has worked in London from a treatment room at The Light Centre Moorgate, treating city workers for sports injuries and posture related pain. She was also teaching Pilates classes in West Hampstead, and providing private one-to-ones. She then moved to Ibiza April 2017 and has been working at retreats and villas all over the island. She is is a calm, friendly and easy-going person with excellent communication skills and enthusiastic about everything she does. Also, fun and driven, she very personable and a great team player - it’s a pleasure to have her back!
She brings a decade of body work experience, which began with the Japanese therapy shiatsu. Shiatsu works in the same system as acupuncture but uses still pressure, stretches and manipulations instead of needles, to create a very deep and peaceful practice. She ran a private practice in Bristol for 4 years following qualifying. Emma then progressed to clinical sports massage in order to more profoundly treat injuries. She has worked with her local rugby team, volunteered on many charity sports events such as the London Marathon and the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, plus has also volunteered with Grenfell tower survivors. Emma is a passionate advocate of the far-reaching implications for overall wellbeing through body work and that sports massage is for everyone, not just the athletes. In her practice in Cornwall, Emma aims to promote massage as a preventative measure against injury as well as a reactive one to chronic and acute issues.
Amongst other things, Emma loves travelling, yoga, surfing, running, music and painting. She loves being out in the elements and is very much looking forward to spending a whole season in these beautiful mountains.
We operate a small fleet of Volkswagen Caravelle luxury minibuses, which are always on hand to make it a breeze getting to and from the slopes. Equipped with ABS brakes, traction control and passenger airbags, your safety is our first priority.
Our minibus service is, we believe, second to none. With a driver and eight seater minibus for every chalet and someone on-call throughout the day, there’s no waiting around in the morning when the powder beckons, no pre-assigned slots when a ski school appointment has to be met and no standing around at the end of the day when your thoughts have turned to champagne and hot tubs, or tea in front of a roaring fire…
And if you want to get back to your chalet in the middle of the day, we’re there too!
In the mornings, your personal driver, dedicated to your chalet, will be on hand in a toasty warm vehicle from 08.30 until 11.00 if needed, to take you to the slopes and help you load and unload your skis (and children!).
One of our drivers remains on duty and on-call from 11.00 to 17.30 (all our drivers have mobile phones). With just 20 minutes notice he/she can pick you up from anywhere in the Méribel Valley and take you back to your chalet.
After 17.30 and before dinner, your designated chalet driver is available to pick you up and take you back to the chalet.
You can be driven to, and picked up from, anywhere you wish* within the Méribel Valley. Your private chauffeur service continues after dinner if needed (please pre-book with your driver before you sit down to dinner), until 12.00 midnight.
Children love staying with Purple Ski, and so do their parents. We’re always looking for ways to make your holiday and your children’s as happy and hassle-free as possible.
For instance, our chauffeured minibuses mean you don’t have to worry about getting the little ones and their ski equipment to or from the pistes. And we’ll gladly serve children’s high tea in the early evening so that you can relax and enjoy dinner with your friends later, while they play in the sitting room nearby or go to bed! Or, if you wish to eat together, your chef will tailor the food to suit young palates. On the chef’s night off, we provide children’s high tea and complimentary babysitting so that the adults can – if they wish – have a child-free evening, secure in the knowledge that their children are well looked after.
We’re also happy to book ski lessons (available for children over the age of four), lift passes and ski equipment in advance so that there’s less to think about when you arrive.
Children’s equipment such as cots, high chairs, sterilisers, baby listeners, a selection of games, sledges, toys and children’s DVDs are available and we can even stock up on nappies and wipes to save you bringing them with you. We also have a small number of pushchairs available, or can hire these for you if needed. Please indicate your requirements on the booking form.
For childcare during the day, we’re fortunate to have some fantastic childcare companies and professionals operating in Méribel and with whom we have excellent relationships. They’re able to offer private nannies to look after your children in the comfort of your chalet.
All the nannies we recommend and work with have been personally screened by us (including checking references and police records), so you can rest assured your children are in safe hands. All are English speaking, qualified to NNEB or equivalent standard or have significant formal childcare experience, and all hold an up-to-date paediatric first aid certificate.
This service must be pre-booked as availability is limited. You can either book a nanny for the whole week or outside school holiday periods more flexible packages are available.
Please book early to ensure availability!
